Student Outcomes
Student outcomes are measures of progress important to Principia College, our students and their families, and our accreditor The Higher Learning Commission. Outcomes tracked by the College include student retention, completion, and post-graduation employment.
Student Retention
The retention rate represents the percentage of active members of a cohort of first-time, first-year students who started in the fall term of a given year and returned the following fall term.
One-Year Retention Rate for the Fall 2022 first time first year student cohort: 75%
Student Completion (Graduation) Outcomes
A student is counted as completed or graduated upon earning their bachelor's degree. Principia tracks students’ rate of completion at the four-, five-, and six-year mark. As with student retention, a cohort represents the completion rate of first-time, first-year students. The following charts show four-, five-, and six-year completion rates for the cohort of students who began their studies in the Fall of 2017.
Student Post-Graduation Outcomes
The Principia College Career Center conducts an annual survey of the graduating class for six months after graduation to assess the educational, professional, and personal outcomes of a Principia education. This six-month data collection is an annual process, conducted each June–December with results reported the following spring.
The First Destination Outcomes summary below details the Class of 2023 based on a knowledge rate of 89 percent of our graduates.
